CiP: MiMo of Chei [MURDER MACHINE]

This guy is the most absurdly powerful melee character I've ever played. I've also gotten a ridiculous amount of artifacts in the short time I've been playing him. I just found a wand of healing for sale down on Orc: 4, which makes me extremely happy. Anyway, I just finished lair and orc and I'm thinking about diving down to depths and then clearing either the swamp or the vault. Any advice as I proceed? Have I chosen well on my rings?

You won't be able to enter vault without a rune, so you'll need to do Swamp or Snake first. In my experience Depths is much more dangerous than Swamp, so it might be good to get that rune first.

You need to stop training all of your skills at once. Turn on only one or two at a time, and focus on what is the most important for you right now. I'd probably get shields up to 5 or so first, invocations to 14 (1% fail on step from time), and then those can go off for a while, and raise your unarmed/dodging more. I'd stop using plate and go for something more ring mail/scale mail heavy; ideal would probably be fire/ice dragon armor. Heavy armor delays unarmed combat, armor skill reduces the penalty, but something as heavy as plate will still slow you down. Your fighting is quite high and can probably stay off for a long time until unarmed is 20+ and shields hits 15 (15 removes all penalties for medium shields).

You can drop the ring of symmetry, there's no reason for you to ever use it, the plain protection from fire ring is much better. You do have the right rings on, yes.

With a slightly lighter armor, say scale mail, you'll still have around 20 ac, and with a few more levels in dodging, could easily skyrocket to 30+ ev, eventually hitting 40+ ev at very high dodging.

Actually, something like a chain mail would be fine, too. Plate is really fine, too. But you have a fire dragon hide and rC++ to go along with it. Enchant it asap.

While you are at it, also drop that robe, leather armour, ring of SustAb and a ring of dexterity(both are almost absolutely useless). I also don't see any use for that katana.

Ah, good catch, I didn't notice he already had the hide in his inventory.

Assuming you have at least one enchant armor scroll, enchant it and wear the FDA immediately. At +0 it's a nice upgrade, if you can get it anywhere 5+ it's strong enough to last the entire game :)
