GaFi of trog - First win!
Finally! After a lot of promising characters, I finally pulled off a win with a complete meatshield of a character:
I definitely underused Brothers in Arms at the end of the game, but my only real close calls were in Vaults:5, so it worked out fine.
The early game became much easier thanks to a shop on D:4 that sold a very good assortment of jewelry. Both of my rings at the end of the game were from there, and they had a tempting artifact amulet as well, but its base amuelt was faith and I didn't want to lock myself out of being able to use my clarity amulet.
Later on I got my favorite hat from a shop at the bottom of the orcish mines.
As I was approaching Zot I found a treasure trove that wanted the +4 fire dragon armour I had just enchanted for myself shortly before. I decided to give it up and it was worth it easily.
I had no mutation resistance the entire game, but only ran into 5 orbs of fire, most of which I hit with my antimagic weapon before they could mutate me, and the one mutation I did get was a complete non-issue.
I've never had this much defensive stats on a character before, it felt ridiculous.
Orb run was uneventful, I was able to escape everything with little problem.

I definitely underused Brothers in Arms at the end of the game, but my only real close calls were in Vaults:5, so it worked out fine.
The early game became much easier thanks to a shop on D:4 that sold a very good assortment of jewelry. Both of my rings at the end of the game were from there, and they had a tempting artifact amulet as well, but its base amuelt was faith and I didn't want to lock myself out of being able to use my clarity amulet.
Later on I got my favorite hat from a shop at the bottom of the orcish mines.
As I was approaching Zot I found a treasure trove that wanted the +4 fire dragon armour I had just enchanted for myself shortly before. I decided to give it up and it was worth it easily.
I had no mutation resistance the entire game, but only ran into 5 orbs of fire, most of which I hit with my antimagic weapon before they could mutate me, and the one mutation I did get was a complete non-issue.
I've never had this much defensive stats on a character before, it felt ridiculous.
Orb run was uneventful, I was able to escape everything with little problem.
