YASD - DSWz on Zot5
Apart from my own dumb mistakes, I think I got trashed due to a teleport trap in the narrows on one side of the vault of Zot. Retreating from the vault to recharge, I ran into a Ancient Lich and a Orb of Fire. (I had cleared the rest of the level already.) Trying to escape them, I ran into a Electric Golem. Killed the Golem but then the others were on me and I was down on HP/MP. Plenty of things I could/should have done differently, of course. It didn't help that I don't think I found more than 10 healing potions the whole game. No wand either.
Tried something different this time. Trained Dodging and took levels in dex. I am not sure what helped most the extra EV or the AC I got from the scales mutation. The Nightstalker mutation almost required I do something to improve survivability against melee attacks. Got 2 levels (XL2 & XL11) before lair. Last level on L6 at XL13.
