YASD-Venom Flasher ... Green Draconian of Vehumet

Hey Guys ...
i thought i try a spell based Draconian again and now am on the first step to not know how to continue ...

i managed to fight myself through a zoo vault opened by a confused slavemaster *hate that dude* and with the green enchant i am somewhat spamming mephclouds where i roam ...

but somehow i lack a direction even if still early game ...

Anyone of you got some tips how to go on and not to die gruesomely and suddenly *managed to barely escape 1 death Yak from the zoo vault and am abit terrified yet*

First of all, you should to train better you skill: two strong spell with high power are much better than five low level spells with ridiculously low power. Throwing, stabbing are totally useless to you, disable them for all the game; disable fighting, dr have a lot of hp, you can afford to wait late game to train a bit more; I usually keep dodging always active, unless I have a spell I want to cast asap, but other (better than me) players would probably suggest you to temporarily disable it :P; you should disable Traps and Doors to, you can wait Lair to start train it.

Now, about magic skills: it's time you decide how "specialize" your wizard, which mean you have to choose a couple of schools to train, until you get some damaging big spells (lv6 at least) online, unless you find a spellbook with very good spell firstly (for example, if you find haste, it's really worth to train charms too to get it asap).
With Vehumet, you should choose to be a conjurer - considering you're a green draconian, I'd suggest to go for poisonous route, which mean Poison Cloud and Poison arrow -those two spells are strong enough to grant a 3 victory.
If you like the idea, you should disable summoning - some backup friends can be nice, but you should wait late game to train a bit more it.
Air magic is actually useless to you: 4/5 points are enough for both repel missiles and poisonous cloud - disable it, re - enable much later only if you want deflect missiles (but it is a waste of xp for a 3 runes game).

Even if you want poisonous cloud and poison arrow, poison magic school hasn't to be trained a lot: 5 point should be enough, at least to have a decent poisonous cloud; I actually don't remember how many point are usually necessary for poison arrow - wait other advice to know how many points you need (not more than a total of 10 in any case). For the moment, you should disable it, at least until Vehumet gift you the book of Annihilations.

Oh, don't keep spellcasting focused: I find useful to train it continuously (but better players than me prefer to disable it some times), but it's much more important to have low failure cast rate and high spell power, which are achieved improving the corresponding magic schools.

Now some general advice:as green dr, you have one of strongest breath in early game - abuse it!
Wizard lacks of raw direct power to kill enemies: against poison vulnerable one, you should always start with a mephitic cloud, and then cast a storm of magic missiles. If you're fighting in a corridor, you can trap an enemy between two fire cloud, and then confuse it with meph cloud: he will happily walk on the fire and die.
A series of fire cloud, in a corridor, can in most case be enough do kill poison resistant enemy (like Hydra) or with high hp (like hill giant): they usually don't care to walk inside fire, and they usually die before reaching you.
In the open, spawn as many imps as possible against meph cloud resistant enemies - they're both decent to shield you and damage enemies.
In general, you shouldn't have problem to kill enemies until lair:4/5 unless strong OoD are spawned - in that case you lack of a spell big enough to kill them. Things like pack of Death Yaks have far too much hp to be reliably killed (which doesn't mean isn't impossible - conjurer flames can do it), and you should avoid them, waiting to Vehumet gifts. If deepest levels of Lair feel too difficult don't be afraid to do Orc:1-3 to farm some other xp and piety - you shouldn't have problem to clear it, as long as some strong enemy doesn't appear.

so the journey continues ...

after fumbling around with meph cloud and magic arrow for ages i managed tofind a book shop in orc:2 which gave me as best alternative the book of sky
so taking in account air was at around 5 so far its quite a nobrainer to go the air path .. so airstrike learned and full focus on air to gain tornado and lightning ball
vehumet rather seemed to enjoy this because in the middle of my battle for the O:4-Shops sent me the book of conjuration for lightning bolt ...

this is the actual point where no thing can touch me even with my stupid mutations and my bad or missing gear ..buckler anyone?

since i got now a spell to actually hurt people and i am quite poison resistant i plan and entering and wasting the snake pits
any opinions and maybe further tip for my ... hopefully first win? *1rune-yasd was the best so far ;/*

tip: don't even think about going into Snake until you're at least xl15, and probably not even then. Also, in the future, it's a good idea to do Lair before Orc.

well lair was a bit hard ..but a few steps after i stepped into snake i got nabbed by an anaconda .. darn haste .. even a scroll of summoning couldnt save me

well alot of lessons learned ^^ gonna do it again soon ;)
