CIP: Now YAVP! First 15 Runer Woo :D

Hey, after a few 3-5 rune ascensions I've really been itching to get a 15 runer done and I think this guy might be the one for it, but I have never actually set foot inside a few of the places where the runes reside and so I have a few questions about them so I don't go in blind.

I've had some pretty nice artefacts this game and sif has given me every spell but ice storm I think, my usual plan of action is to abuse necromutation channelling and blast everything with fire storms with plenty of scope for running away with haste, swiftness and boots of running. Honestly I'm a bit afraid of Tartarus as I've read many times that being undead there is asking for being 1 turned with dispel undead spammers but I feel my survivability takes a big hit without necromutation. Are there any tips and tricks beyond diving to Tar:7? Any spells I should pick up for it in particular?

Slime Pits I'm leaving for later because I loathe the place.

I think all the rest of my runes are from Pandemonium. I've never been inside ever with any character, what's it like? What will I need to survive? Is necromutation safe there or do I have to dump it for fear of dispel undead casters? Is teleport control barred on all pandy floors or just the rune containing ones?

Doing the slime pits before pan (and the hells too actually) might be good. It's not really hard at your level of power. rCorr, Firestorm and DMsl? What's to fear? Then again you don't really need any more equipment, so who cares?

Tar is not so bad if you can kill shadow fiends quickly. Dispel Undead hurts quite a bit, but Torment will do more damage at full HP. I usually prefer using Lich Form in Tar to not using it. Staying out of range of Dispel Undead also works, but hell effect shadow fiends will usually spawn next to you. Cblink away before killing them if you want to be safe from dispel. I usually don't bother.

Pan should be pretty easy for you. Controlled teleports are allowed everywhere, even on rune levels. So happy ninjaing! Note that you don't have to kill the panlords. Because of this Pan is often done before the hells. Especially Cerebov would be quite hard for you. Necromutation is very good in pan. Shadow Fiends can randomly spawn, but are rare. Random Pan lords can probably spawn with dispel undead, but I'm not sure. Also Gloorx Vloq has it, but you can avoid him or try to kill him at range. He is very fast though. Butterflies might help a little, but they instantly die to miasma.

Just remember to cblink away at the first sign of danger and never teleport uncontrolled and you should be fine. Buff up before entering a new level, that's the most dangerous part. You can randomly get dumped in the middle of a Pan lord vault (including unique ones) or on hellion island.

The monster set changes per level, so if you see some kind of demon expect to see more of those on that level. This also makes levels vary greatly in difficulty.

Do the slime pits, it's not too hard and the loot is great. Don't worry too much about dispel undead, it hurts but if you stay at long range from shadow fiends (and with cblink, swiftness and running and haste that's no problem) or use butterflies as shields you probably won't get hit at all by it. You are so fast you can kite almost everything by staying at extreme range and dropping firestorms near the edge of the screen while running away. Might be worth learning haunt, being able to smite target multiple ghosts around your enemies can really stop them in their tracks.

Thanks for the advice guys, I went for haunt and did Tartarus and Slime pits, had one slightly shaky bit in Tartarus where the hell effect paralysed me but thankfully no shadow fiends were around at that point. I'd heard horror stories of multiple shadow fiends being spawned at you at once by the hell effect but I never had more than 1 on my screen at any time I think.

In Pandemonium now and I've got a quick question. Does every level have a pan lord spawned in it or is there just a chance for one to spawn? Thanks.

There's a chance for one to spawn. Some levels are entirely panlord-less.

Also some of the panlord vaults require dig to get to the panlord (and the rune). So if you cant find one, look for suspicious structures.

Thanks everyone for the replies, you made this frankly utter beast of a character possible :D First 15 runer! Also cleared 3 zigs with the guy, he was like a goddamn train. Had 41 cure mutations in my stash, ended up not needing one as this guy was pretty lucky even when I decided to play the roulette. I read somewhere that inventory value no longer factored into score. I sure hope it doesn't or they would've been worth a lot certainly :P
