I've got about 900 exp in the bank, wondering what to do. Should I start building up short/long swords at all? Stabbing works well, but I don't have a guaranteed way to stab, if they wake up before I get next to them then I have to just melee. Stalkers start with +2 dagger and I've been able to use all the enchant weapon scrolls on it so far. I was also kinda luck with my first book pickup, a book of fire. Most of it is too high level to be useful, but fire brand is a nice weapon buff when stabbing fails. Or maybe I could just victory dance most of exp with passwall/fire brand to hopefully put more into spellcasting, maybe build more transmutation and earth/fire/charms.
What's the progression I should be going for?
Edit: Also, some vampire questions. How do mutations work with them? Every time I stumble upon a mutation potion, I lose max hp as if through rot, and sometimes go dopey for a temporary int loss. I can regain the hp through heal potions or heal wound potions, but cure mutation doesn't do anything. Do vampires never mutate? It says they never need to breath. I figured it means they could walk through water, but that's not the case. Does not breathing affect anything?
