YASD - ambitious KeWz (13 runes :sadface:)
I'm in the late-mid-game, got the 2 "easy" runes, I still have D:23-27, Vaults:8, Crypt and Slime to clear. I'm able to cast tornado (ZOMG!!11), and purely for this reason, I'm dead set on taking this guy all the way to my first 15 rune win (yeah, right), or at least go to the depths of Cocytus and avenge my best character ever, a SpVM who died to Antaeus + ice fiend spam.

Now, this guy is obviously not ready for the post-endgame just yet: his resists kinda suck and so does his AC/EV but I hope Vaults:8 will cough out a couple nice randart rings, he has no means of channeling MP, and torment will rape him.
I'd go for necromutation, but no Necronomicons turned up so far, so training Transmutations (with a -2 aptitude, ugh) and Necromancy to the required levels would be a gamble. All that XP could go into Fighting, thanks to a manual found in Elf:5 and a second one sitting in a store.
In light of this I wonder if going TSO would be a better idea, but I have absolutely no experience with him (TSO, Fedhas and Jiyva are the only gods I've never worshipped). I don't like the idea of being denied use of regeneration and dispel undead. There's also the issue of training Invocations, again with a -2 aptitude AND the piety cost, which I suspect means I'm not going to make use of any of the active powers without some serious Abyss/Pan scumming, which I'd rather avoid. I could also convert to him just for to have that katana blessed, then ditch him for some other god, but then again I could just kill Mennas and get his holy eudemon blade (is he guaranteed to carry one of those or am I mistaken?). Or, more likely, die trying
If I stay on the evil side I'm more inclined to go with Makhleb, as HP for kills sounds more useful for a kenku weakling than any of Vehumet's spellcasting aids.
Or should I just stop worrying because tornado is so overpowered that I can walk up to Cerobov naked, slowed and wielding a snozzcumber and still bitchslap him?
Obviously, all of this is academic, as I'm going to get him killed in Vaults:8 somehow, but hey, phantasizing about promising characters is half the fun anyway (if you suck at Crawl, at least )
