There are no monsters in sight!
To re-cap he has just cleared the lair. It was the dog/hellhound ending that I have seen before. He is way ahead of the game XL wise due to two potions of experience!
Because I had no scrolls of ID when I first discovered the acquirement scroll I picked self IDing armor instead of the usual Jewlery. I got pearl dragon armor, which gives 10 AC and dosn't even impair casting too badly! It also gives me see invisible which will help down the road.
Right now I'm trying to plan my final spell set. First off I am an earth mage so LRD, Crystal Spear, Shatter, and Iron Shot are no brainers. Because transmutation also comes with the EE settup I think I will help myself to either blade hands or statue form, whichever Sif Gives me first (How high should I let my unarmed go to get the most out of these forms?). Finaly I'm training Necromancy for Dispell Undead and Borgnjor's when Sif feels like giving them to me. I may pick up swiftness and reflect missiles once I can cast them with spellcasting alone, however I have no intrest in training the skills involved.
Right now the biggest long term question I have is whether or not to raise my Necromancy and Transmutation skills to the point where I could cast Necromutation should I get it. It seems like a huge investment; but removing the hunger clock alone would be awesome. In theroy I could scum the Abyss hungerless to get whatever spells I need castable! Of course that spell only appears in a book that Sif dosn't give, and I can't count on getting it in an artifact from her, can I? I already lucked out with Crystal Spear.
Of course this is all speculation. I can't gaurentee or even assume this character will live much longer. I have yet to find any meaningful resists other than life protection on my armor and a ring of ice that I have stashed. Hopefully this problem will sort itself out after I run through Orc and ID the three pieces of Jewlery in my inventory.
I have family events, homework and other obligations that should keep me away from Crawl for at least a couple days, so I'll have pleanty of time to consider any advice given. Thanks in advance.
