Problems with staying logged in
Posted: Wednesday, 7th September 2011, 10:28I don't know if anyone else experiences this, but I find that even if I check "log me in on each visit," next time I visit the forum I am not logged in and have to log in again.
Sometimes, I will also get logged in the middle of reading the forum. For example, I can log in, read a thread, and hit Reply to add a new post. Then when I type my post and hit Submit, it tells me I cannot post because I am not logged in, and I have to log in all over again.
I'm not an expert on this, but AFAIK forums use cookies to automatically log users in when they visit. My browser (Safari 4.1.3 on MacOSX 10.4.11) is set to accept cookies, and I do not have this problem with other forums.
