There is an awesome spell capable of shredding Orc:4, Snake:5, and everything up to D:20 or so.

That spell is Summon Ugly Thing.

Maybe they could make "amulet of stasis" appear in magenta on the inventory screen? After all, magenta means dangerous and you don't get all that much more dangerous than something that blocks all your escapes.

Yes, most definitely do update to 0.10. Skill training's more sensible.

The first two magic schools should be normal, then the third should crosstrain at -2, the fourth at -4, and so on.

I've never gotten particularly far, but:

-- D:1-10 (or deeper if the lair generates deep)
-- Lair 1-8
-- Orc 1-3
-- D:10-16
-- Swamp 1-4

I don't play webtiles because It only has 0.9 and that has the old crappy skill training. Once I played trunk, I really could never go back to that.
