I use rods as additional damage before I switch to my 'real' weapons whether they be spells or sword. Hell sometimes you can even kill just with the rods if they're something like Rod of Ignition or Rod of Clouds. Pekalas lets you use them to even greater effect.

When I was using my Earth Elementalist I actaully eventually had both learned. I could occasionally see the need to have one more tile of range, or to have more power. Though it became moot when I could just shatter everything. I never could decide between the two.

One thing I dislike about TOME is how freaking EASY it is to break. Once you have regen equipment or the Regen passive you'll almost always out regen your enemy's damage.

So I cure the negative Dex with a restore abilities pot, but my EV is still 1 and I still have the Clumsy status effect. I tried clearing what's left of the level, but the next floor has Gastronok and Maurice next to all three of the stairs and I dare not fight them like this.

Wat do?

Food is way too forgiving, especially with the loss of Nausea. Hunger SHOULD be a major concern beyond spending time in one spot. I have a radical suggestion... Make 'Permafood' rot. An interesting new level I found in 0.12. It had A LOT of enemies, and a lot of loot everywhere plus several shops. In addition it had portals to Pandemonium, Hell, and the Abyss.
