Hey, it'd still be screaming, you'd just get death metal growls and ear-piercing arias into the mix now.

Also got +9 eveningstar, a demon trident, a vampiric executioner's axe and 9 surplus EW scrolls by Orc, thanks to Maud and a bailey. Too bad I can't use the exec, though.

Have it sometimes spawn a clone when you take huge damage, with HP equal to the HP you lost. Some of your essence flows out through your cloak of the Rakshasa!

Weight still imposes meaningful choices by limiting the amount of options you can have at any one point. It's just that item slot limitations do the same thing much better.

Making weight more important would have been just as acceptable as removing it.
