Re: knowhow to choose weapon?

Skills multiply base damage, but don't multiply enchantments or slaying bonus. Therefore, base damage is more important than enchantment level. This usually means you should switch to the higher tier weapon as soon as you have it and have enough skill to use it at a reasonable delay. The only time y...

If you're asking whether you should sometimes use a better weapon untrained than a worse weapon which you have training for, I'd say the answer is usually no. They're generally (except for short blades) going to have a delay of more than 1.0 turns, and since most enemies have 1.0 as their attack del...

When I said genre, I didn't mean to imply theme/flavour. It doesn't really matter to me whether it's in a dungeon or space or whatever. I meant genre as in FPS, JRPG, etc. To me that simplifies the question to "What genre best describes the game?" It's clear that "roguelike" best...

The spell schools are the biggest impact. Spellcasting and Int are also involved, and heavy armour has a big effect. For heavy armour characters, just take off your armour, memorize the spell, then put your armour back on. (It'll still be 100% fail, but now you can train the spell school.) If taking...
