Suggestion: Heavy Armor casting for dwarves

Suggestion: I would like to suggest that the spellcasting penalty for wearing armor be significantly reduced for dwarves. This will probably also necessitate reducing casting aptitudes for dwarves to compensate. Justification: Right now there is no niche for a heavy armor caster. I propose that this...

Re: alternatives to permabuff

It would make permabuff worse than recasting. We certainly don't want that, we don't want putting up with tediousness to give a gameplay advantage. Anyway, the way to implement permabuffs has already been discussed a lot, and I even wrote a detailed and fair design for it. The problem is that I thi...

Is buffing too powerful

I am creating a poll to try to get a general feeling on the forums. Taking my own advice, I have split this topic off of the perma-buff thread to address the topic of buffing in general. My personal feeling is that some buffs (mainly swiftness, repel missiles, and haste) are likely too powerful and ...

The simplest, most straightforward way of implementing permanent buffs would be to have them reduce your maximum mana by their level while active. Quick pro-tip. Only 3 scrolls ask you to pick items. Recharging, ID, and Enchant Armor. If you read-ID a scroll and it asks you to select an item, pick either an unidentified armor (that you might want to wear) or a wand that is at least un-IDed enough to not know charges. This will either ID the it...
