Fortunately, Okawaru will not give you something that you cannot currently use. Unfortunately, Oka will gladly give you things that you would never actually want to use. So you aren't going to get body armor, boots, etc. but maybe you will eventually receive a hat that is worth wearing.

The real problem is overall length of the game I think, though the devs have been addressing this bit by bit, to the overall inprovement of the game.

Broad axes are fine weapons.

The conventional advice for a novice player rolling up a HOBe would probably be to use the axe with the highest base damage. This has nothing to do with broad axes being terrible weapons or whatever (they aren't).

Rough death. My condolences.

Infinite ammo eliminates any drawback to ranged combat. "Ammo always mulches" would also solve the ammo pickup issue. (Number of bolts/arrows/etc. generated can be tweaked alongside this change, obviously.)

Unless it was very recently changed, you can "easily" suppress *Rage by "just" keeping your satiation at sufficiently low levels. (Yes this is terrible and should not be possible.) Or wear stasis. In any event, going berserk occasionally is much easier to swallow if your body arm...
