Contam would not be a problem normally, just don't unwield it. But the rF- combined with Contam makes it not worth it in my opinion. So personally, I would wait until I have rF from somewhere. But if you want a melee weapon and not just a stat stick, you might have a better one already at that point...

There's no need to max your resists. A single pip is enough and you shouldn't compromise your AC or EV even for that single pip. For Zot you want at least rF+.

The resists seem to be already covered in that character dump. The rPois from GDS is not important.

Generally you want to do Depths before the 3rd rune anyway. This makes you stronger for V:5 as well.

If you were scared of V:5, you should have gone to the Abyss or Slime instead. Why did you choose Tomb? Tomb is the last place you want to go with this kind of character, after getting the other 14 runes.

AFAIK the manual doubles the skill points you get from experience (raising your skill apt by +4 does this), but cross-training is based on experience points, not skill points.

The manual won't help your LB training at all (it gets a portion of the xp you put into SB, which the manual doesn't change). For me personally, having no rune lock wouldn't generally change anything at all. Even currently in all my 3-rune games I do Elf and Crypt for exp and loot. They prepare me for V:5 which I also always do (it's fun). After that I'm strong enough for Zot. I wouldn't like to enter Zot any less prepared...

With body armour, generally you just pick the one that gives you the best AC+EV. MR is the most important resistance, because getting killed due to being paralyzed or banished sucks.

I'm one of those players who train stealth more than most good players would advice. But if you're wearing scale or heavier, the armour is killing your stealth so much that it's not really worth training it.

For weapon skill specifically, the minimum delay is enough in a 3-rune game. It's probably almost always enough in a 15-rune game as well, because you most likely get more benefit from training something else.

I guess the metric we want is "proportion of games where the character died after shafting before getting back to the original level". There should be an increase in this value, but whether the increase is too big would then be for the devs to decide.

O:1 can still spawn stone giant or ogre magi or even a warlord with a crossbow who are quite deadly for a squishy mage. Or just the risk of sorceror paralysis or of a warg. I wouldn't try it early on even with a VM. It's still better than Lair which will definitely spawn spiny frogs and black mamba...
