He didn't say GDR, he said "GDR-like". I believe he meant some like a minimum block chance for larger shields (similar to how GDR raises the lower bound on AC's damage reduction.)

If you bring them into an open area, they tend to split.

You can try polymorph...but it's very risky.

They don't shout, so if you see one, try to lure it away and kill it before it joins up with others (e.g. throw a stone and back away.)

Orc followers are different, because they are permanent followers. Mercs are durably summoned, and thus cannot pick up items. Personally, I think that mercs are rare enough that they can be permanent...but that's how it's currently implemented.

Don't carry around what you don't need; the game's find feature (CTRL+F) means you don't have to remember where you dropped them. Red Jellies eat scrolls and potions, but not all slimes do. Actually, wasn't 12 staves skill based on the fact that elemental staves used to be based on quarterstaff weapon type? Now that they're "staff" instead (which no longer has a non-magical version) do you need the full 12 to get to min delay?

I think it's a bug though that you got a Lair entrance mimic *after* you had already entered the Lair. You should report that (and upload the save file) to Mantis.

I just noticed that the stable version of the download incremented to 11, for anyone who's not yet addicted to trunk :-)

However, I see that the development builds are also .11.x of various flavors (except the Android build, which has skipped ahead to .12.x)
