Paralysis is un-interruptible, much much much stronger than sleep. And needles allow no-magic characters to stab. Even unique Pandemonium Lords. So its good to have them in. Also, high hexes enable invisibility. That lets you take down effortlessly 3 of the 4 S-Branches, Elf without the end but with hall of blades, all draconians in Zot.

Then you ALSO get silence basically thrown in for free.

In in 0.20, Corin intends to trim the core game, cutting Lair to 4 levels (from 6), Lair branches to 3 levels (from 4), and Depth and Vaults to 3-4 levels each (from 5).

Stealth is strong defensively because that first centaur/orc priest/cyclops/unique wont wake up after opening a door to them. Close door, exclude, and raid the rest of the dungeon. Of course stealth on +0 aptitude sucks, its only cheap enough over other defensive skills on +4/+5 aptitude.

Currently scarves seem to have a really odd (=bad) position. Unless I am draconian wouldnt I _always_ want +3AC over rc+? Even rMissile seems just barely better than 3AC.

I play melee Ops because a) ranged is fucking annoying and b) because constriction makes melee actually acceptable for Op. Damage output is soo bad without constriction that I hate it.

Removing the cloak works fine too. Thats more of a flavour thing anyway - it made a teensy bit of sense more when elvish cloaks gave stealth.

On a stealthy char (octopodes my favourites) you use the start stealth to good advantage. On anyone else, its not just blowgun, its especially the curare needles. Otherwise, yes, pick up the first weapon and go to town with that.

How come amulets of rage are still swappable?

So we have a strong, onetime effect, with a built in exhaust-timer to prevent abuse- and get no penalties at all for equipping/unequipping it. Why?

Mostly relevant if one has the only other amulet that has no penalties for swapping, amulet of reflection. But then its a nobrainer.

Simulacrum pretty much can win you game by itself. You definitely want higher defenses than you have now, train a bunch of dodging. If you get like 20 or 30 thirty slaying? Yeah sure, that happens in less than 5% of games that go 15 runes. Not at all a viable strategy to plan around.

LB can work with SP, but SP are so horribly bad regarding HP/AC that you still dont want to be in melee range of anything scary.
