Have you tried HilariousDeathArtist 's .rc? It force-save-and-exits the game when you get hit very hard, so you don't fumble your next move.

The whole point of Crawl combat is that it's insanely swingy and no combat is ever definitively decided in one or the other's favour until it's over. Proposals like this are equivalent to 'reduce damage variance' proposals.

Toss a stone to the tile orthogonally adjacent to the monster you want to wake up. Monster in question doesn't need to be in your LoS itself. Magic dart works with this too (wherever it lands it creates a 'ball of noise radius 1' that wakes up things adjacent to it and attracts them to the noise at...

Make Zot:5 regenerate monsters infinitely every time you uncover or re-uncover (after it has moved out of LoS) every tile in it. You can't lure and kill things one by one from the vault anymore - but it's so jam packed in normal play that the player might not even notice for some time that it's goin...

That storm dragon armour is amazing. Feel free to keep using it.
GDA in particular offers no advantages over it since you have rF rC rPois in your current setup anyway.
And CPA would only be better if you enchanted it really high, and it sounds like you can't.
