And now for something completely different:

How about removing Necromutation, or a major nerf? Immunity to torment + no spell (or channelling) hunger seems overpowered to me. Makes Tomb and a lot of Hell very easy, not to mention Ziggurats.

There is plenty of danger too, but when one keeps wandering on and on and on without finding the rune, the tediousness starts to outweigh the danger.

I do like the Abyss in theory. All those cool monsters etc. In practice, not so much.

Abyss can be tedious, but your stealth would work well there. With rMut, you wouldn't get much, if any, mutations. A cure mutation potion cures roughly 3-5 mutation in a go. But often I wander for hundreds/thousands of turns without finding the rune. Vaults:5 is much more satisfying to me. I general...

Thanks for the numbers. I have never used fsim, so it was interesting to see them. To your point about str vs dex. Recall that in trunk, Dg get 2 stats every third level.
