yeah I probably would have worn the CPA and the ring of slaying - or I mean I won't claim to really know what's better overall but had there been no GDA I would be quite comfortable taking the crystal plate and slaying and one point in each resist.

variety is good if and only if it brings the overall quality of content up. I don't necessarily mind suggestions along these lines, though, as long as it isn't proposing to add a bunch of new monsters right now. and as long as it keeps the good things about the lair (like the level generation)

I still disagree about depths - it at least feels quicker than the bottom of dungeon used to - that was a slog the biggest thing wrong with it is spriggans, probably. incidentally I think spriggan berserker would almost be a good monster on its own except that ev enemies are inherently kind of annoy...

Not in every (I mean, Trog exists, to start) but in quite a lot of cases I would consider not getting spells on a "melee character" to be "badly buil[ding]." Of course this does not so much mean conjurations, so is not exactly symmetrical to what we're talking about.
