Nemelex no longer uses Evo instead of Invo, so there's no special synergy with Ar.

You don't need rF+++ for Zot, definitely not for a MiBe. rF+ is enough. rF++ if you want to over-prepare. AC is more important in most cases.

Large shield penalty isn't too significant at the shields skill level you have. I would switch to a large shield as soon as I can.

I never really understood why scarves exist at all.

Are they supposed to be a gateway for charms being turned into items in the future? If so, how are they supposed to be balanced? Spell level is a mechanism to balance charms, but you don't need any training to wear scarves.

I basically never learn Dazzling Spray on Cj, or if I learn it, I never bother to use it. Maybe I'm missing out, but the damage sucks IIRC. I would much prefer to use Fulminant Prism for AoE on Cj.

Anyway, in this case, OP had a lot of other ways to handle Sonja.

Not sure why you tried Dazzling Spray. Just fireball her from afar. Also, you can use the various things Siegurt listed above.

Dazzling Spray is an enchanter spell. It has conjuration school tacked on, but conjurer types have very little use for it.

Train Fighting/Dodging and a bit of spellcasting. Rest you can do whatever you want. Stealth is ok, not particularly great. I wouldn't train weapon skill or shields any time soon.

Sticks to snakes is good, and spider form makes it very hard to die to orcs. You have infinite EV and venom branded attacks. Keep in mind that you can poison a monster two or three times, then use temporal distortion to warp time so that monster dies from poison.

As mentioned above, Bend Time slows monsters next to you. It has a very high success rate even with very little invo training. IIRC, with 5 invo, you will slow two-headed ogres about 90% of the time. With 10 invo you can slow Death Yaks > 80% of the time.

That comparison doesn't make sense. Melee is free. Spellcasting isn't. MP management is fundamental to how spells work.

If you don't want to manage MP optimally: well, don't. Crawl is generous enough that you can play sub-optimally in one aspect and still end up completely fine.

Yeah, someone did about 120 Zigs with Gozag. They actually nerfed gold distraction in Mega-Zigs because of that run.

By the way, this is what happens when people do too many Megazigs. Everything on the map is "written" with potions of experience.
