Quick check on source suggests that it's OK if accidental (i.e. quaff-id), but you get punished if you drink it deliberately, even if you don't get any mutations!

In other words, it's almost never a good idea, although I might be able to imagine some desperation scenarios.

Overflow Altars before D:4

If I understand this correctly, overflow altars (i.e. altars in the dungeon, rather than in the temple) were introduced because the number of gods exceeded the number of altar spaces of many, especially older, temple vaults. (Another solution to this, which I am not plugging here, might have been mu...

The previous version felt very strong, because it had a big early game skills boost. This version, with the reduced stats and aptitudes is quite a lot weaker. It's still a good bit stronger than Mu, and beats many non-recommended combos, simply because it is very adaptable. Any book or wearpon works...

I would quite like to get a background to make a really custom start, including god, weapon, consumables, books, spells, etc. Perhaps all these things could be weighted. So Trog costs too much to also get a good weapon or armour, etc.

If nothing else it would lead to a lot of amusing guides.

Sorry, probably a misunderstanding. Some people are saying that Gn is bad because it's tedious. Dragging out the endgame isn't great, I agree. I don't think the species is weak though.
