Aargh, I hate you. 'Grats though. I have to ask, what strategy did you use for getting to the orb chamber? First, thank you :). My strategy was pretty simple - beat down everything I encountered. Of course, I was very careful about that, luring the enemies into a corridor so I could fight them one ...

YAVP - Who says that SpBe is a "horrible mismatch"? :)

So here it is - after losing my last SpBe to a Zot:5 summon storm, this time I left nothing to luck a prepared myself better. But let's go from the start. I had a lucky early find - amulet of guardian spirit. Spriggans being fragile as they are, this amulet brought me a few extra hitpoints (well, a ...

Re: Anything changing with circular LoS vs. diagonal movemen

Those are the problems of having sqrt(2) movement, correct? I think part of the problem is that it sounds like you would still have square melee rules - e.g. it takes as long to attack diagonally as it does to attack orthogonally. Why would attack speed change with the distance? Physically, this ma...

You don't have to do Hive at all.
In fact, I usually keep it intact as a source of late-game piety gain with gods appreciating kills and corpse sacrifices. It's usually enough to get your piety from **** to two gifts in a row.

The hunger cost of Poison Arrow is a good reason to get Spellcasting and Int as high as possible. Once Spc*Int >= 550, Poison Arrow becomes hungerless.
