Re: Runes and inventory

This was proposed before, but turned down. I think it was an old Sourceforge FR if anyone likes to dig it up. I think I like the idea, myself.

Re: Corpse Throwing for Large Races

I like it, including the numbers (factors 3 and 2). If we get a patch, I'll lobby for pushing it into trunk. Cool! There was a developer on the wiki who seemed interested in the patch, evktalo; I wonder if he reads these boards? Sure, and I'm +1 with the change too. But probably not coding it. I'd ...

Re: game design subsections

Having the forum is great, and it's already beneficial for getting feedback and ideas. The many "what is tedious/overpowered/etc" threads are my personal favourite. However, we devs have felt that we specifically do not want another official/formal development channel to follow up on. That...

It'd be great if you could try it out and give a little feedback. One dev (felirx) uses dvorak and we made the mapping during the usability project.

Virtual keyboards actually work surprisingly fine - you can do most of the movement with autoexplore and travel commands.

A great read, and also thanks for the armour feedback. It's not sounding bad at all.

Chris Galardi a.k.a ixtli has been working on an iPad port; I believe some of the code was committed to the master, but there is more work to be done, and ixtli has been less active lately.

Re: Vault suggestion thread

Is there a vault creation tutorial around here? I used to write areas for dikuMUDs a long time ago, and this seems like a nice way to contribute something small. I think I read a vault text file that came with crawl a long time ago, but reading it just made me want to go do something else. :p Makin...

Ok, changed the chance of stone walls to a chance of crystal walls.

Re: Labyrinths, starvation, and intelligence deterioration..

Yeah, I took a look at lab.des and most of the exit vaults have stone walls about 1/3 of the time. It is misleading.. The stone could be recoloured, or green crystal used instead.

Thanks button

I miss the thanks button (the upright thumb), and "Has thanked"/"Have thanks" data from the user data. I think this is nicer to have than post-count, myself.

Re: YAVP - Minotaur Healer

I've played a couple of much-pacifying Healers. In 0.5 (I think), I won a heavy armour DDHe and got two runes with a stealthy, casting HaHe before stupidly trying to melee a hellion in late Dungeon (instead of running away). The pacifying style is definitely viable for a three-runer, and I found it ...

Re: User ranks

Not all the devs (me for example) know the source all that well either! A "dev badge" is probably a good idea nonetheless.

edit: Yeah, that's a good postcount theme. Swamp Surfer, Shoals Sunbather?
