Re: Can't really figure out encumberance ratings impact

The only things you need to be able to get a lot of EV really fast is to be not troll sized and to have not ghoul dex. I was curious about this so did a little wizard mode testing: XL 6 HuGl who raised dex, wears leather armour, and has level 10 dodging has 4 ac, 18 ev, and takes AvEffDam 2.9 from ...

Well, on a species with really skewed aptitudes and not great strength (merfolk, halfling, maybe others) you can quickly skill up a load of EV in a robe while your armour aptitude is so much worse that you can't skill up the AC very well and trying to will crap your EV. That's an unusual situation t...

To be perfectly factual, because armour skill multiplies base AC but not enchantment, it does affect helmets (because helmets have base ac of 1) but not hats (because hats have base ac of 0).

Unarmed is good, so good that you don't need claws and definitely don't need to check weapons (doing so tempts you to switch away when you really don't need to). And if you're looking for a good non-Troll species for this, draconian is pretty great.

If your piety drops too low with Trog, the game tells you can no longer regenerate and be protected from hostile enchantments. That kind of sounds like it makes you have Deep Dwarf hp. Well you can't kite an enemy that's dead, so it would be okay if that could be a short action. Or it could waste the turn. Wasting the turn would probably be better for its simplicity so that players could know that taking a swing always takes 1 turn.

Having melee attacks be faster than a turn results in the ability to kite melee monsters slower than you with a melee attack. This should probably be disabled because it is so tedious. So I propose that attacking at a speed faster than a turn always takes a full turn but will attack multiple times. ...
