I'd hit you if you were naked. ;o

I think nerfing Nagas again would be the nail in their coffin, though that's a discussion for another thread.

Re: Terrified; Questions about a promising Merfolk

Yeah, don't train anymore weapon skill for a long time. Use the demon trident and forget about the other weapons. The best move is to enchant the demon trident to +9 before you think about the trove, but I understand the temptation. Train Armour only until you get 2-3 more AC (6-8 Armour IIRC). The...

Terrified; Questions about a promising Merfolk

My killdudes is suffering. I very recently found a +3 demon trident, and there are two (2) enchant weapon scrolls in my game. I branded it twice and now it has Generic Damage boost. I had to power through Shoals (AS MERFOLK) because I was struggling to kill things and I had already invested too many...

Implied Abilities/Facts/Things of note

Things that aren't documented in game, but can be inferred by system messages, god attributes, items, and so on and so forth. Race should be noted and treated as a general gauge, so, no generalizations like "we all have hands and feet" "we are incapable of swimming", or, some of ...

Re: Tweak Nagas: Some Minor Requests

Current nagas generally wear a robe for most of the game, for what it's worth. Dex is a lot more useful for them than str. I like the idea of giving them more str/armour apt and less dex, even though your rationale is based on completely false premises, because currently heavy armour is pretty bad ...

Re: Tweak Nagas: Some Minor Requests

Finally, A Naga approaching a sleeping newt (spooky!) at the end of their line of sight has to take 2.4 auts longer than almost anyone else (barring one of the related races). The bolded is completely irrelevant. Stealth wakeup checks do not care about action time. Additionally, stealth does serve ...

Re: New race- Thaumlings (evoke conduct)

Really like it, and I think it's reasonably balanced and not too complex. I would say it is favored for mage builds at the moment and I agree with HardboiledGargoyle, being able to cast your lower level damage spells with a damage boost is going to make them pretty mana efficient, so you can tone d...

The Octopode Buff We Need

Octopodes have eight tentacles that constrict. They have a good grasp on enemies, let's give them a good grasp on life.

Fighting 0 --> 1

Spellcasting -1 --> 0

Pun based video game design is the only direction we need.

Tweak Nagas: Some Minor Requests

Besides the Human, with some sparing references to the other generalist races, I'm going to try and not mention any of the others in this game for the sake of focus. Skip to the line to see my proposal. Let's talk about Nagas! Long story short, Nagas are a adaptive race in the same vein of humans (t...

Re: Would a Trog "Doom Knight" be Viable?

It seems like a thing you could do, but it's hard to understand why you'd want to. It's "viable," but I don't know that it sounds like much fun unless you're roleplaying, and if you're doing that there are frankly much, much better games in which to do it. I resonate with this, Crawl is n...

I demand that they're not allowed to cast Iron Shot. (Lore does so much for me.) Can they throw tomahawks, for reference? I like the rest of it, save for both Invocations and Evocation being above 0. I'd like to see them have the same EXP penalty that Demigos have, if only because 3 Spellcasting/Sum...

It happens! It's just about being patient and keeping it in the back of your mind. Treasure Coves are far from mandatory, though they do brush shoulders with fun, I feel your pain.

Crawl 0.17 Tiles not displaying

I'm sure I'm not explaining the issue fully, but I've noticed after attempting to redownload Crawl onto another computer, my game runs slower, in addition to tiles being occluded and white.

Pictures of issue.
