Re: How Many Skills to Train

I always seem to meet wight packs or entire undead levels or player ghosts as IE. If I don't have a few levels, I find that I just have to skip the level entirely. I've never played DEEI either so the skilling is somewhat slower or more probably lack the MP. In my experience, Ice beasts kill other i...

Re: How Many Skills to Train

I was going to write a detailed answer but probably it is better to write a short version "train offense first, then defense, then more offense". The below is taken from DEIE of Sif Muna of one of the leaders of current tournament, take a look at first 10 XLs as above that you can do what...

Re: rename porcupine, spiny frog

I'll be in favour of renaming them both. They both have names that set up preconceptions of their abilities and spiny frog hits particularily hard and is not evocative of its deadliness.

Add a new zealot background- the Jelly Knight (JK).
New players can experiment with Jiyva and everyone can have fun with Jiyva from the start.

Re: Dynamic Monsters branch / bezotting update

I don't see stairdancing as a problem, but if it is to be a tactical or strategic choice, why not simply increase the time to move up a staircase?

This bezotting mechanic, is just so counterintuitive, and the name is just...uninformative.

Re: Let Ds spirit shield be toggleable or otherwise change i

Spirit shield is interesting in that it can completely change the playstyle, but it's an odd one in that it will be viewed as negative if you was planning to play as a heavy magic user. Every demonspawn mutation is regarded as a wholly positive effect with no downsides at all which can be used witho...

Re: Naive Hepl Power Rankings

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that frail takes away a proportional amount of HP, so no matter what the species modifier is, it is always a proportional 90% of the initial HP, so an Ogre will have 117% HP and a felid will have Felid will have 54% HP after Hepl, rather than 120% and 50% respe...

Re: GrEE - what to do next

Most bolt spells will do. Press ctrl-f and see if you can find a shop with a spellbook with bolt of fire. If you cannot, bolt of ice, or bolt of draining, or lightling can be good alternatives. Mainly, you want to be able to kill the eyes of confusion and mutation before they can get line of sight t...

Re: GrEE - what to do next

I often find Slime easier than Vaults 5 as a conjuration user. But if you have never done slimes before, there are several suprising dangers to watch out for, such as azure jellies which can do a lot of cold damage and malmutating shining eyes which can be more easily dealt with by area of effect at...
