MTLA is better than +4 FDA unless you are in zot or gehenna. +8 FDA probably a wash. It really depends on if you want a level 7/8 spell. I think FDA will give you more AC, but if you don't think you need the resist fire from FDA, I'd stick with Moon Troll- the spirit shield and regeneration are pretty good. Though if you do switch to FDA, consider just wielding a Staff of Wizardry for Haste and Blade Hands instead of training spells...

Having +4 FDA to swap to is probably worthwhile for Zot since you never know when an Orb of Fire will show up, but I'd wear Moon Troll instead for any non-Fire locations of the game.
