Greys get +5 AC and earth apts in the very latest builds of crawl. if your grey has +2 stealth/stab, it's the old useless version that many would complain about. It doesn't have bonus AC.

Going from .7 to .6 delay doesn't make up for the 5 less base damage. Especially on a multiplicative brand like holy wrath.

Crypt is really easy. Blade should also be straightforward for your dude. Drain Life with 20 invo should clear elf by itself. Weapon - surely you've found a battleaxe of freezing by now? I like that - remove the three curse scrolls in favor of a general 'scroll of cursing'. It could work like a mummy death curse when read, and could target anything in your inventory when under Ash. This change makes both Ash and the ID game better, IMO.

I can't remember the last game where I didn't clear D before touching the lair branches. It's just easier to keep going down after vaults+crypt than to head back up to lair.

crysknife was pretty buff in slash'em iirc. my flame mages would dual wield them with excalibur.

I don't have a problem with the status quo, but double swords could be renamed as katanas. Everything's better when you add more (bring back) ninja swords. you could even have tso blessed katanas called masamune!

triple swords are a little harder to replace.

Hm, it looks like when I create a berserker, wizmode will acquire nothing but manuals. But if I create another char (HEHu, DDWr), and convert then acquire, it creates spellbooks. This may be an unrelated bug? But I think my original points still stand.

iirc Dragon Form suppresses most or all mutations, so Jiyva wouldn't help at all. Jiyva also doesn't give any of TSO's awesome benefits. Pale drac breath rules: it's cheap, rapid recovery, never misses, blocks LOS, decent damage. Use it often. All drac colors play pretty similarly however, a +2 here...

1. I hadn't won a healer yet
2. healers don't waste as many starting stats on dex as monks or transmuters do
3. it sounded like a good idea at the time

The biggest problem with warding is that the things it protects from, you don't need protection from. Warding doesn't stop the summoned demons from tormenting/hellfiring/mutating you. It might stop that ice fiend from hitting you, but what in the world are you doing right next to a summoned ice fiend?
