No, the knockback really isn't enough to be useful for repositioning monsters. It's only practically useful for the collision damage (and even that isn't great).

In 1., human is now biased towards strength because it gets it first. The current system doesn't have this problem.
In 2., now players can figure out which stat(s) they'll get next by looking at which stats they've already gotten, which is extra work. The current system doesn't have this problem.

Taking Jiyva on the Speed Challenge will break the restrictions and cause you to get 0 points, so I don't recommend that.

You can typically cap Jiyva piety right away by going to previously beaten levels and letting jellies eat all the items there.

Often you can only get one, and have to cut AC to wear crappy body armor for it. In these cases MR checks are a serious problem and can occasionally end runs to paralysis and the like when you can't control LoS or first go into Orc. Maybe if you wore body armour that gave you good AC, you would die...
