Slings work pretty well untrained. As a skald you can buff your sling too. Bullets work better than stones for non-jellies. That's what I'm working with now. Picked up some bullets for ammo, buffing the sling untrained until I find good gear. So far so good... just gotta learn to lay off the tab bu...

It seems to me that if you pick a race that forces you to deal with negative skill modifiers it's pure luck if you survive long enough to see the temple, let alone the Lair. This suggestion is surely way out of the question, but has anyone thought of maybe zooming in a bit on the playfield? Much of it seems to be wasted space, concealed by the 'fog of war'. By zooming in, more detailed tiles could be created.

I'm of the opinion that I love monsters having the ability to pick up stuff and chuck it at me, or zap me with that wand of draining and ruin my day.

However, I also think having to store your stash in Lair 2 is tedious and cumbersome. I really have no idea if there's a possible middle ground.
