To answer the unasked question, the setting you should use is

auto_butcher = hungry

This will only butcher when you are hungry, then you'll eat it, and keep going. Just press o, everything's done for you!

If you're a troll I recommend: auto_butcher = full

Interesting DG build, although it may be a bit off topic here. Getting level 9 spells going with 16 int is technically possible, but yeah, I wouldn't recommend it. You'd probably want at least 10 more int to make it feasible.

Were you actually using the +fly ring? Otherwise, the 5th pip of MR is entirely too much MR, and you could have gone with anything else. You didn't seem to have many rings in inventory, but if you ever found something like a +2-3 prot/evasion ring that's more useful than MR+++++.

However, being stuck at only +1 is still more significant, and if you could get the plain CPA enchanted, it's still better.
