we can see that UC eventually becomes stronger than +9 weapons, which clearly indicates that the damage is the reason why UC is appealing in the first place. What we can SEE is that UC NEVER becomes stronger than claymores. And takes way too much XP to become stronger than any other endgame quality...

All enchantment does is increase damage and UC is still a higher than a +9 one-hander of a good base type. Most brands also don't do anything else - though losing pain/vamp/disto can hurt. You need 26 skill to make an executioner's axe effective. It's not that you can't kill things with 20 axe skill, it's just considerably worse than 26. My axe skill is 20.6 in the dump. I intend to eventually cast everything I have memorized except simulacrum. I memorized it to unlock necromancy for the pain axe I was using. I recently acquired regeneration, so that'll make it quite a bit stronger than it would otherwise be.

You should have trained more fighting, man. It's not something you can ignore on casters if you don't want to grow ulcers every other fight. I like the high stealth on him. It dramatically improves survivability for a squishy character.

Short Blades: 12.9 with +2 aptitude. This gives him Long Blades: 5.8 effective skill, again with +2 aptitude. It's nice that it works on skill points instead of levels.
