Almost all Transmuter ghosts can spam Evaporate for Mephitic Clouds, have rPois, and have pretty good unarmed to boot. If you see one without rPois or clarity yourself, read that teleport scroll on turn 1.

In other news, I apologize for all the SETm ghosts on CDO :oops:

Yeah, I read your YAVP about slinging your way through Tomb, and was impressed that it's possible, and glad I didn't try it ;-)

Abyss is definitely safer than Vault:8 and probably safer than any the ends of Elf, Swamp or Shoals, especially for a spriggan with decent stealth -- just run, run, and run some more. I liked Punk, but needed rElec (and the -4 on that robe just wasn't doing it for me). Punk didn't seem to kill stuff...

If you're tough enough, you can kill them with berserking, even if you're using a non-flaming bladed weapon. Zerking a hydra with a non-flaming bladed weapon is definitely not a beginner tactic... the line between standing over a dead 12-headed hydra and having a 12-headed hydra stand over a slowed...
