Well, my DrTm of Ash simply binded the first halberd I found. This means it's realy easy to bind two slots (unlike when you realy want to use a weapon). It's a little awkward, yes, but terribly so - I used my forms in almost every combat anyway. You still can kill a rat with an unskilled halberd.

Why is the contamination is handled over time? Why not give it all when casting the spell? Well, I played late and as usual I did not reach the extended end game this time. I fell down a shaft into a draconian/dragon vault. I killed many tough, and the death would be very easy to avoid. Next time maybe :-)

I myself like these things that "humans have 0 apt for everything". Of course you do not even need a meter stick, but it looks nice.

Also it would not suggest newbies ideas like "humans are below average at spellcasting, so maybe I choose fighter instead of wizard".

I found it more effective to just kil hydras with large rocks or wands. Or simply evade them. Training an other weapon is a lot of xp early on wasted for only one monster, and a hydra can be strong without regrowing heads.

Or even better, you simply can wear a good plate armor, and have high AC AND EV at the same time and it's even easier to cast spells. See cerebovsquire's morgues: all of them wear plate armour. Plate is a really good choice if it has a useful resistance.

Hunger is not really an issue for most characters. Really. You can rest with them just as well every time you are injured if you wish.

Several vulnerabilities combined with the lack of the help of potions like heal wound or speed makes them really hard.

Lajatangs are not bad weapons - you should look for them. They use the staves skill. The good side is that they only need 14 skill (which you want with them as soon as possible) to reach minimum delay, and this gives you a lot of xp which you should spend in dodge, armour, fighting, and invocations....

I do not think oklobs can attack you trough your summons. Not that oklobs are that hard for non summoners.
