If not all of the orcs were immediately next to the stairs when you first met them, maybe dragging one or two upstairs first would have helped improve your chances (avoid facing the whole pack at once). Given that I want to try a Troll win, what would be more advisable? Try TrFi again and push Dex? Try a more rounded up Troll and start a TrWz instead só it starts with a much higher int? Go for a TrEE hoping for statue form or somesuch?

Am I the only person who plays in multiple servers or simply stops playing in a given server because you can only play one char/version/server?

Be able to see all spells that exist on the game. Right now, searching for spells will give you all spellbooks. But I want to see what spells actually exist and, when I select a spell, which books I know carry it and where they are.

What about armour? Scale lets me be stealthy and thus choose fights. But plate protects me a bit more.

The character can easily die anywhere. -Tele + -Cast + Chei + no healing is a nasty combo. Did you try removing Maxwell? I suspect Statue Form is already castable with that wiz ring. If I change into the robes, it is easy to cast the other forms. I was mostly wondering about the jewelry.

Wand of digging worked. And I have used wand of disintegration on things like hydras. I read that these wands were able to dig 1 square holes but I'm guessing this is no longer true.

And I did use one |resist. But yes, one of the problems was failure to disengage. I was trying to use wands of iceblast on them to check if they worked. They don't do a lot of damage to them.
It was definitely a YASD.
