Most powerful, certainly not (Cerebov can kill him before they even meet in melee) but probably the most dangerous of his part of the game, the early end-game, where you have a few runes but aren't ready for Zot).

Re: Fire Dragon on D10 - bug?

Orc warrior on D:2 seemed pretty harsh to me, I kited him with my CeHu for lots of XP though. if you like kiting for XP, try playing a AK with spear, and kiting large abominations (the slow ones). it is specially nice with Draconians, that can get a color before even entering the dungeon. who am I ...

Re: Background: Battle Mage

I guess you're right, if there's some good that can come from a proposal we should look at it. Part of the problem is that it still seems to be rather weak in the beginning (ring mail and buckler are a fairly serious penalty on d:1) while not making a very large difference later. The main problem is...

Re: Tukima's dance

This hypothetical version of Tukima could still be used in all the ways Tukima is used now, just in addition you could cast it at dudes. At first I had read it the same way, as being made so it only targets enemies, but I'm pretty sure what he means is that after casting you can target yourself for...

Re: Background: Battle Mage

This background seems to start out as the worst of both worlds, except for that ring. By D:5, it turns into a conjurer with a little more Vehumet piety. I dislike the idea of zealots existing at all, with the possible exception of ones which radically change d:1-3 (healers, maybe) or which give gods...

Obviously Necromutation would be necessary as a combo, since otherwise you would have to be very wary of the food cost resulting from bringing all the things to the shops.

Re: Unfair Death (Drowning)

I've had one unfair drowning death (my flight expired at the same time as deep water rushed under me in Shoals) but I think that's been fixed now. Other than that it's been pretty easy to avoid. I think it might be good for drowning to go the same way as instant stat-death though, simply because in...

I'd acquire armour, then use scrolls on the plate if there are no better branded plates in the game (and if acq doesn't give you something better). Re: Extending Trog's berserker rage by corpse sacrifice

Maybe "p"raying while berserk could sacrifice all corpses in LOS to extend the berserk, which would obviously come at an implicit food cost, and a LOS thing might help some of the problems with blood sacrifices. That said, food costs don't matter much and Trog is already extremely powerful...

I think it's suggested to Triple Draw once with the deck of wonders, after IDing it through Peek at Two. There's only a small chance a deck is 4 cards in size, so you can generally triple draw before stacking five without using it up. Of course, if you get three wild magics you're out of luck on a d...

I don't think you were greatly inconvenienced by this particular trove, considering that Geryon isn't hugely difficult and is usually worth killing anyway. I don't really see how you can call draconians' skills "poor," what with having above-average apts in almost all skills. Also, as someone said earlier, if you're using a bardiche flaming/freezing might be a better brand than distortion especially versus ranged opponents; if you want to max...
