I strongly disagree with the OP. By the time mummies can reasonably get access to 'infinite XP', they've effectively won already, or are capable of it. Thus, by grinding XP they're reducing their chances of winning. Non optimal tedium isn't a problem. Plus any character can keep scumming pan forever...

I agree that zot traps, and really traps in general should be removed. I really hate the zot 5 situation where I just have to walk into a trap (and in the case of a zot trap, I have to type "yes", leading me to believe the game doesn't think I should be doing this). But that's a wider issu...

It's kind of a weird holdover, Oka used to take piety away whenever allies died, thankfully that was removed. I would guess the reason the ally hurting conduct was left because "Eh why not", after all it's rarely relevant.

Ahah! I though of that. You can't throw a wand out of LOS, and still have it end up past the zot trap, unless you're willing to clear both zot lungs, in which case you apparently didn't need the wands past the trap in the first place. It's fine if you drop them on the 'safe' side of the zot traps an...

Issue: Wands can be thrown over blocking zot traps in Zot 5

Occasionally Zot 5 has both paths blocked with zot traps. Even more occasionally, a player is unable to blink past them, and is unable or unwilling to attempt randomly teleporting past them. So in that case they must step on the zot trap. I don't like it, but that's not what this post is about. One ...

Trolls are a fun race in crawl, and are pretty differentiated from the other races. One differentiation is their food habits. Yeah, very true that they don't become useless late game. If you got level 27 hexes for free you'd be stupid not to use it throughout the game, including in zot.
