Same problem with ctrl+n, at least in firefox. It opens a new tab rather than swinging your weapon to the southwest. I could swear this used to work normally, but obviously doesn't anymore. And sometimes I really need to swing my weapon to the southwest!

That's just it, all those items can come in handy sometimes. If you throw away a potentially useful item, you're making a choice. These choices used to be easier for me when I'd just throw away all the wands like tabstorm said, but there are times where confuse and paralyze wands come in quite handy...

I like the general idea, but I'd tone it down and make it less linear. I'd also remove the specific spell part of it. For example, spellcasting 4 makes all your spells cost 1 less MP. Spellcasting 10 makes them all 2 less. 18 costs 3 less, and at 27 all your spells cost 4 less MP. The problem I see...

You're a merfolk, so like you said it's not a problem to get the higher skill. Unless you're already using a good shield, I'd use the halberd. Eventually you'll want a glaive, or demon trident and a shield.

As a merfolk, you can get away with a bardiche, but 26 skill is a lot, even with +4 apt.

Freezing is one of the more desirable 3r brands, because it slows many enemies, including draconians, and isn't too widely resisted. Flaming is OK, not quite as good as freezing Vorpal is nice due to nothing resisting it, but you're doing less damage to non-resistant enemies than you would be anyway...

Well, in late game with low enough MR you can be paralyzed by an alich on zot 5, then killed in a variety of ways. On the other hand, it's almost impossible to die on the turn an enemy enters LOS on D1.
