Do you have silence? Since you already have some air that would allow you (mostly) painfree acess to the golden rune/Tomb. Otherwise good old blade hand/transmutations, though these loose a lot of their apeal in extended.

Cutlass of Elec is an optimal weapon, I am always glad to see Nikola just because of his weapon. Elec has not been nerfed, still same amount of damage, since some time even the noise is gone.

As a rule of thumb never change to short blades except in certain very special circumstances, none of which you encountered. Yeah, that part is just brutal. I won the ten rune challenge after having played a char that was able to farm Tomb for experience (SpEn gone EE, Lees rapid destruction does so much damage with metal walls). Good luck next time.

No it won`t, s/he is playing DD. Mh, in most normal games there are enough Royal Jelly/!restoreabilities to last to the end, but only if you are stingy with them. I would say spam wands/mahkleb and use !curing more lenient.

Minotaurs are able to one-shot a ~60HP SpEn immediately after an almost-killing stab; always test in Wiz-Mode if your stabbing is high enough!

Yes, being under Silence gives a stealth penalty. The idea is that with both Darkness and Silence all monsters which do see you are unable to shout. With only darkness and silence "per demand" one stupid shouting elf will wake up the the whole vault; thats really sub-optimal.
