This reminded me on my DDNe^Chei, tho I did use recharge ability (just once) and scrolls +had nice vamp broad axe.

I suppose Pain is mostly for heavily armoured characters who don't plan on getting Bolt of Draining castable. You suppose wrong. Pain is fine on light armored casters/necromancers/summoners who have invested in necromancy skill. I suppose that "casters must pick up a weapon" is merely adv...

I am using y,u,b,n keys for movement. I don't even open ability screen, I just pres 'b' to move down left, but instead it instantly goes berserking.

I would wear that MR ring instead of Wiz in the Vaults/Elven Halls.
Don't switch to TSO yet. I would go Vaults 1-4, Elf, Depths 1-5, then Vault 5 or Slime, then Zot 1-4.
If you want extended then switch to TSO and go Crypt. If not then just finish Zot 5.

Someone left NaCK^Trog with 2 runes on U:1, tried it, took sliver and slimy rune, then went for the Orb, there were some nasty pan lords in the Zot, but all went good, managed to escape. Thanks to Zwobot and Kramin for helping.

I did stab some Pan lords with NaAs^Dith.
With high stealth you'll find nasty monsters (like those who can torment) sleeping and just avoid them, so I guess stealth in extended is good.

Why does the count displayed in game as number of turns never match the actual value recorded when you win/die/dump the char? Noticed this many times and often wondered. Like my current DsFi says 77k or something ingame, which I felt was pretty quick for how far i'd gotten (for me,). dump and its 8...

Well you don't have to train shields if you want to use Wyrmbane. Just switch to it when you run on some dragons and see if you like it.
