Indeed. I usually don't carry them around just because of inventory issues, but they're still useful even when you don't have the chance of Kiku protection or torment immunity.

Unless you're trying to full clear it, it's already functionally the shortest branch. You just find the nearest downstairs on each level, and then slime:5 has virtually (maybe even exactly) the same layout everytime.

As I said in ##crawl-dev, the jumping mechanic was obviously deemed to be way too fun to be attached to Felids or boots without some sort of penalty. So now we have Power Leap (which you have to make several Ru sacriices to get) and lame Slow + Hop.

There's a reason enslavement is no longer a spell. I'm pretty confident that a better version of it isn't going to become a racial ability ever.

I'd be cool with rod of clouds moving to an xp-gated evoker like lightning rod. Does seem like an enormous gamble otherwise, since rod of clouds often picked "the one cloud you didn't want for the given situation" even at 25 evo.

Play an orc, grab an axe, go to town. Crank up a ton of invo at some point because occasionally you'll want to pacify something/heal yourself/use Divine Protection. Divine Favor is basically Chei stats without having to suck in return for them.

Distortion is fantastic if you:

a.) Are a stabber or caster
b.) Are with Lugonu and can freely swap

It's not so great in most other cases, unless you really like blinking enemies with ranged attacks out of melee range. It's powerful, but extremely annoying.

I would just like to point out that very high Str (20+) is absolutely insane in terms of constriction damage for Na, regardless of the weapon you're using. I assume the case is the same for Op, but I am really terrible at Op so I can't confirm that.
