Isn't E:5 no teleport control? Uncontrolled blink sounds much riskier than fear.

Jessica disfigured me with a faster metabolism recently too, along with level 2 deterioration, and of course I didn't manage to get rid of it until after I'd gotten 4 runes and switched to Jiyva which was 98k turns later :?

I ran into something similar in a vault, iirc a "moon moth" that was invisible AND drained mana on a hit. Ghost Moth! They're the reason I don't go into spiders nests without sInv anymore. They're an absolute nightmare if you're playing a caster even with sInv if they catch you with other...

I think that guide is a bit outdated, you should keep shortblades on until you reach the skill needed for the minimum delay of your weapon then turn it off, pretty sure it is 8 for quickblades, 10 for knives and daggers, 12 for short swords and 14 for sabres.

See which Orc ending you've got? It looks like you haven't finished it. Most of them shouldn't be too hard with swiftness and rmsl. You might find something nice to spend your 2k gold on if you clear it.

I dunno how early you met her, but she's usually trivial whether I'm playing melee or caster by the time I meet her. Just don't leave the animated weapons alive if you're gonna stay near them, pretty sure Terpsichore herself does little damage.

The 3 or so times I've done Elf : 5 Master Archers have been the most damaging and scary things by far as casters and a heavy armour fighter, but the summon spam can sometimes pop out something scary too.

Probably the Zot vault with the moths of wrath behind glass and about 70 trolls and ogres.

I killed the RJ with potions of speed to run around and a spear of returning, I think I lured some of the blobs upstairs without the RJ when there were too many to do anything safely, and killed them seperately on the next floor then went back down.

Don't give up! If you can get out of the harsh early-game you can probably rock the rune branches now that you've cleared them and know them somewhat. As a one-time user of enchanted steel javelins myself, I can assure you that those javelins will last you pretty much the entire game, unless you throw them into deep water or lava by accident.
