Hi gurus... Just got a really nice character which I feel I am about to lose. I cannot tp from the dragon - he is dispelling the teleports with his breath. I am not sure if I have enough mana to kill him either . I also cannot haste/control tp-blink/spider form - everything will be dispelled I guess...

You dont die easy - and have the aptitudes of the human in magic.
THe slow movement is easily countered by blink/conjure flame/mephilic cloud (and having rPois makes mephilic even easier to use)

well, when you have 72 hp, 15 is quite good.
The thing is, this character has no defences.

And since simulacrum and ice magic was online , i would first get some defences before cranching into the killing staff with weapons.

even when I am playing naga caster (which has +30% hp compared to sludge elf) I get 10 in fighting by the end of lair. And now when you consider +1 aptitude for fighting for SE it is easy to say that you could have 12/13 in fighting when you go into the ork also I dont really see why this + Level 13...

I have quite opposite feeling about firestorm - when I get it I normally spam spam spam it on everything. May be you are actually right - i should try haste - but I need to first find it)

I savescummed a lot in the beginning. I decided that first I need to win this game AT LEAST WITH saves and then try the same build without saves.
I am considering saves as an importatnt part of my learning process - but after you managed to win the game with saves you ahve another target to achieve

I do believe that getting Spellcasting 27 and int 37 on Tengu is much more complex then getting Necromutation (which can be cast without fear with only Nec/TM 14).
