I like Halflings more personally, but both could get usurped by more interesting designs. Goblins(better dark magic), Leprechauns(half price at stores), etc.

The main point being it doesn't change Pan at all, and it encourages Elven Halls to at least be tried during 3 rune games. Not sure it'd be a bad thing. :)

How about dropping the Demonic Rune(doesn't even have a hardcore guardian like the other 4 Pan runes) and making an Elven Rune for Elven Halls? Only rune without some kind of awesomeness around it(epic branch, nasty guardian, stage of Hell, etc.) And Elven Halls is the only major branch without a ru...

Demigod Reform

Demigods are supposed to be half gods, or sons of gods retaining supernatural skills and power. Better than a human in everyway. The current ones don't have this feeling. If a Crawl Dg and Hu were in a barracks training swords, the Human would master them first. Then mock the demigod for being a son...

0.12 last Spring. I can only stand playing a handful of roguelikes, and Crawl is easily the best out of those. Love the active development. I like how skill can push you to wins, not just some silly trap dungeon where a spear pops out, plunges through your heart and laughs at your character's death....

Pretty slow start, this combo. I was literally running from a gnoll for ten minutes on D:1 gaining my 2 MP back and failing to have him reach the light. Despite training invo only from the start. Feels like I'm scraping axes together and having them try to 'see the light' from the sparks.

It's just intense to put two staircases inside a circle of doom where a very weak character can enter.(D:13-14 isn't very far.) :)
You enter the 2nd bad staircase, you're getting hit from all sides & dragging people back, even slower if you teleport instead.

Not complaining, just intense!
