Re: VSBe Is Maxwell's *ever* worth it.

The one time I wore maxwell's I died pretty similarly (crushed everything super quick, then died like a chump to high burst damage at end). Most importantly I had lots of fun that game and it was one of the fastest game I've ever played, I would probably do it again.

Hope you had a fun game too!

Re: I will not play as anything other than Hu

I haven't been playing much other than mummies recently (when I do play; the student home internet connection sucks and I don't want to play locally). Everything that needs food pisses me off, and I tried Djinni but their mechanics (especially spells costing HP) pisses me off even more than food, s...

99% of my games are split between humans and demigods. Overall I find demigods more fun then humans, so I agree 49% with you.

You should try demigods too if you like the special human gimmick of good at everything. Demigods are very good at everything but without a god.

Remove unusable skills from wanderers

Hi, in my latest wanderer, my starting known spell is apportation and my starting items are a club and a book of minor magic. And yet, my highest skill is transmutation equal with spellcasting. I understand and appreciate that wanderers are a fun/challenge start (and I play a lot of them), but if it...

Re: CIP: DrCK -- WTF, Forest?

Awesome! I had a similar experience when I tried them, but i also did some fun escapes with them. It seems as usual the optimal play is to wake few monsters, pull them back to cleared area, and then instead of walking to them jump inside their faces. Eventually, I'd like to have a jumper that knows ...

Re: CIP: DrCK -- WTF, Forest?

Sorry I wasn't very clear. I meant to try and burn down bad guys with the forest. Forest is one of the more complex puzzles to solve because of the large number and variety of skills the enemies has, and managing to get rid of lots of the threats from offscreen is a huge advantage (if the layout all...

Re: CIP: DrCK -- WTF, Forest?

Jump boots are really fun and strong, you should try them out on some sissies to see if you can get the hang of them. You might like them!!

For forest, I recommend going there with lots of wands of forest burning, it's the best way to go about it.

edit: you have a +9 rod of forest burning. Do it.

Probably the safest way to kill the royal jelly is to rain yourself a nice little corridor surrounded by water, invite the jelly to your corridor, and drown him in more rain.

An added benefit of sleeping with socks on is that after a sufficient number of years, feet hair get the message and stop growing there. Not only is a naked grown man wearing socks beautiful, it's also got hairfree feet!

An area of interest so far left unstudied is the control of the means of thank production. I'll defer to consistently good players if/when one shows up, but I did win a couple games with this general strategy. The thing to remember about crossbows is that they are so crazy good in the early game that you do not absolutely need to put a single point of XP in either crossbow or fighting skills until after lair and orc. It helps a lot for the endings of both but the +hit on crossbow and really high damage wi...
