CIP: actual "warrior-mage"

I haven't played in awhile, so I decided to play a few VS's of random backgrounds. This time, I tried doing a VSFE, took Kiku to start, found a Pain weapon and branded it, then changed to Chei for Orc and onward because it's more fun. This ended up being an actual warrior mage in that I use bolt of ...

Yes, the current highscore isn't even a 15 rune win, if I recall correctly. It might have been version 0.9 or something. the current high score is due to a bug, the "real" highscore is a 15 rune vsmo^chei in 0.17. on the topic of the OP, it would be nice to have this as a game mode someho...

Ghouls are kind of mediocre. 3: Vine Stalker: You can get into really low attack delay and do a ton of damage w...

Poison spitting is a nice trick, but it's important to note that Nagas also get rPois (relevant when there are so many deaths to adders), +stealth, +3 HP aptitude, and can use shields easily. To soak up XP, same reason we have so many */Conjurations spells. It wouldn't be too hard in theory to get rid of fighting/spellcasting as separate skills and have HP/spell level growth depend only on XL and species, but you would have to fiddle with the melee and spellpower formulae.

I would seriously recommend chei or makhleb (even makhleb from the start on a Minotaur) over trying to do a Berserker for a 15 rune speedrun. Trog is miserable in extended at low XL and surviving his wrath is also miserable without infinite teleport or even a wand of teleportation.
