Re: Clock Brainstorming Thread

A clock is hard on new players, as it may rush them into taking risks they shouldn't take. New players probably should use degenerate tactics (to some extent) to make it through their first game. Experienced players have a clock in the scoring system, as it heavily rewards low turn counts. If I want...

For unique harvesting, in previous tournaments I could see which uniques were still on my to-do list. Maybe I missed an easier way, but this time I had to compare my list of vanquished uniques with the top scorer's list to see which ones were still missing. That should be a bit easier.

And yes, Absolute Zero is just wonderful, much nicer than Glaciate. It makes Lehudib's Crystal Spear entirely obsolete, and as a guaranteed one-shot solution it is surprisingly MP-efficient compared to other single-target spells. In combination with Vehumet's MP recovery it lets you kill quite a lot...

Absolute Zero is a new level 9 Ice spell in 0.25, replacing Glaciate. It kills 1 monster immediately - you can not target with it, it randomly kills 1 amongst the nearest ones. Goldifying manuals requires a commensurate change to either gnolls or acquirement. Because gnolls cannot turn off skills, and skills influence acquirement results, possessing a manual for an unwanted skill as a gnoll can be detrimental. So you end up with gnolls wanting to carefully avoid picking u...
