some players choose Chei for OpTm in temple and still win. On the tournament I have seen a player choose a Felid Fighter (!), and won with 15 runes (!) with (drumroll please...) ... with no god. Oh, Chei. I missed that one, I am sorry. Octopode of Chei, that sounds truly horrible. Self-challenge? Well, I am not sure. I thought that was a classic combo. The character was unlucky. There are 4 level 9 spells which Vehumet can grant and he grants 3 of them. So the chance to be unlucky is less than 25%. If you find 1 of the 4, Vehumet will grant you the remaining 3. It happened to me, I was really glad when my Fire Magic character found Shatter before...

Yeah, and I also have poison arrow. Prob is, I was trying to go for 15 rune as a caster and without firestorm I'm wondering which spell I should go fo. I obviously can't go for icestorm. Go for Vaults5/Elf3/Crypt 5 and you can find Fire Storm there. So NewVehumet is giving you all the spells you do...

I usually use wands (fire, cold, draining) against hydras. A wand of cold is very effective against the Lernaean Hydra, it is cold blooded, so it gets slowed and dies surprisingly fast.

The forum and the tournament

Reading this forum it is hard to see that the 0.12 tournament is currently on its way. Even CIP and YAVP posts are mostly about offline or 0.13 games. And very few of the forum's big names are found in the tournament (although they might play under another name, of course).

I may be wrong, but I think that octode transmuter is a terrible combination. If you transmute yourself to any form, you lose 6 of your 8 rings. And if you stay an octopode, you suffer because your inability to wear armour.

D:1, right next to the point where I entered the dungeon: a 5x5 vault surrounded by transparent stone. In the middle, there is a 3x3 lake, with a neutral kraken. On the shore, there are various monsters: octopode, minotaur, draconian, felid, ogre, spriggan, vampire, naga, orc (only playable species)...

To be honest, you shouldn't die once you have cBlink online and don't forget about it. ...unless you are at the last floor of Hell. Or at the last floor of the Elven Halls. Or at the last floor of Zot. Or you are anywhere else, but meanwhile some monsters have spawned on the previously cleared area...
